TADSA is a state-wide not-for-profit, voluntary organisation. Our purpose is to assist people with disabilities to overcome problems to independence by creating, modifying or reworking devices and equipment, including but not limited to utensils, seating, furniture. hygiene, mobility aids and other things where there is no other solution readily avaialble.
We have a range of volunteering opportunities across our Assistive Technology, Freedom Wheels, Events and Activities and Finance teams.
Freedom Wheels is a South Australian program where skilled staff and volunteers work closely with people, families and therapists to create customised bicycles and tricycles. Each Freedom Wheels solution is built to the individual’s height and weight as well as physical and cognitive abilities. The Freedom Wheels customised support accessories provide children and adults with a disability the confidence and freedom to ride. The support accessories are easily removed for transportation and storage.
The Freedom Wheels Coordinator manages the process for all inquiries which may lead to a Freedom Wheels bike or trike order in a formal manner. These processes are controlled by the Freedom Wheels Coordinator under the oversight of the Project Manager from the initial inquiry through to project completion and delivery. A project follow-up completes this process, ensuring that the client is totally satisfied with the resulting bike or trike.
