He doesn’t fight crime or wear a cape but he loves his workshop and has a heart of gold. That makes him Superman in our view. I am always super proud to learn that a TADSA technical volunteer has been nominated by a community member for an award or accolade – not only because it is obvious that TADSA tekkies are deserving of community acknowledgement but it is a really valuable way of driving awareness of ‘what we do’ and builds credibility with our communities. This week I received an email from Westfield confirming a local community member had indeed nominated ERIC SIGGURS in the Westfield Local Heroes community recognition and awards program at Tea Tree Plaza. Three finalists for each Westfield Centre will go through to a community vote. The successful hero for each centre is awarded a $20,000 grant for the organisation they represent, and additionally each finalist receives a $5,000 grant for their organisation. Information about how to vote will be posted when the finalists are determined. In the meantime, THANK YOU Eric, your support means the world to many.
