It was a Tuesday bright as! It was also a day of adventure and endless joy when these young ones from Victor Harbor Primary and Victor Harbor High School experienced our Freedom Wheels Bikes and adaptive trikes to find their happy place. Some of them had never experienced bike riding before while a few of these young ones took off faster than the wind! They came with abilities which may have kept them from experiencing riding a common bike; quadriplegia, cerebral palsy, limited core/ muscle strength, intellectual challenges and even anxiety of getting on a ‘two-wheeler’. As always TADSA had a customized approach for each of them. We had a range of riding supports on offer, from posture-support braces, toe clips, ankle aids, rear steers to special (outrigger) wheels along with our adaptive trikes. Our wonderful ‘bike experts’ helped the students learn to pedal, balance, press their brakes and ride as confidently as they can. Each and every one of these bubbly ones had a memorable time and they had nothing but the widest of smiles in Victor Harbor as they enjoyed their newfound sense of freedom. It was a Terrific Tuesday with tremendous rewards.
