Help Shape the National Disability Sport Action Plan
Australia’s Play Well Sport Participation Strategy is working toward a future where everyone has a place in sport, with safe, welcoming, inclusive and enjoyable experiences for all. As part of this vision, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and The University of Queensland (UQ) are developing a National Disability Sport Action Plan.
The Action Plan will help guide a more inclusive and connected sport system, ensuring people with disability can participate and thrive across all areas of sport.
Have Your Say
People involved in disability sport are invited to participate in stakeholder workshops being held across Australia. We want to hear from athletes, participants, volunteers, coaches, officials, administrators, leaders, carers, advocates and organisations working within the sport sector.
These workshops will explore:
- What is already working well in disability sport
- The challenges and barriers that still exist
- Opportunities to strengthen inclusion and participation
- Practical actions that will help more people with disability start, stay and thrive in sport
Your insights will directly inform a person-centred, co-designed National Disability Sport Action Plan that supports organisations to work together towards a more inclusive sporting future.
Workshop Format
Each two-hour workshop will be facilitated by the ASC and UQ research team and include both whole-group and small-group discussions across four key stages:
Dream
Imagine the best possible future for sport for people with disability.
Discover
Identify existing strengths, successful programs and what is already working well.
Design
Explore the systems, supports and partnerships needed to create lasting change.
Deliver
Identify practical actions and priorities that can make a real difference.
